Advent Sunday PEACE
Isaiah 9:6-7 For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on His shoulders. And He will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the increase of His government and peace there will be no end.
Luke 1:76-79 And you child, will be called the prophet of the Most High; For you will go on before the Lord to prepare his ways;… To shine upon those who sit in darkness and the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace.
Ephesians 2:14-17 For he himself is our peace, who has made the two one and has destroyed the barrier, the dividing wall of hostility…His purpose was to create in himself one new man out of the two, thus making peace…
Isaiah 9:6-7 For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on His shoulders. And He will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the increase of His government and peace there will be no end.
Jeremiah 6:13-14 From the least to the greatest, all are greedy for gain; prophets and priests alike, all practice deceit. They dress the wound of my people as though it were not serious. ‘peace, peace,’ they say, when there is no peace.
John 20:19 …Jesus came and stood among them and said to them “Peace be with you.” And he had said this, he showed them his hands and his side. I am alive. I died for you and I resurrected. I died for your peace. Then the disciples were glad when they saw the Lord. Jesus said to them again, “Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, even so I am sending you…and breathed on them…
John 14:26-27 But the Counsellor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you. Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.
God’s greatest desire Matthew 11:28-30
Matthew 11:28-30 28"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light."
Matthew 11:25-27 25At that time Jesus said, "I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children. 26 Yes, Father, for this was your good pleasure. 27 "All things have been committed to me by my Father. No one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal him.
John 5:19 19Jesus gave them this answer: "I tell you the truth, the Son can do nothing by himself; he can do only what he sees his Father doing, because whatever the Father does the Son also does.
Matthew 11:28-30 28"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light."
Prayer of Empowerment Lord Jesus Christ, I give you all my burdens. I repent of being over-burdened. I give you my work. I give you my family. I give you church. I give you my future. I take on your yoke and lay down all other yokes. Thank you for forgiving me of my sins. Help me to be more sensitive to your Holy Spirit and not allow the enemy to make me carry another yoke. In Jesus amen.
