  2. Motivation Swedish: “we don’t need as much encouragement or "stars" from our managers” “we think it is very important to like your job” Russian: “encouragement plays one of the most important roles for us”(We need to be praised) “to like your job is less important than to have a high salary”

  3. The way we cope with conflicts Swedish: “We don’t see conflicts as productive” “We want calm discussions with many perspectives” Russian: “Conflicts are not the best way to find solution” “Conflicts are accompanied with emotional argues”

  4. Individualism/Collectivism Swedish: “We are more likely to work for the sake of ourselves” “We don’t identify ourselves with the company” “Even when Swedes work in teams, the work is often shared among the team members” Russian: “We see a company as a family” “Climate and relationships in team are significant” “Decision making process is more effective in team”

  5. Egalitarianism/Hierarchy Swedish: “We all are at the same level” “The manager is responsible for the final decisions, but listens carefully to the worker’s opinions” “Delegating is common’’ Russian: “High level position is strictly separated from lower ones” “Managers don't like to share their responsibilities” There is a Russian proverb "If you want to do something well, do it yourself"

Trust/Control Swedish: “There is no reason for managers not to trust their employees” “Employees are encouraged to come up with new ideas and initiatives” “Subordinates are uncontrolled” Russian: “Lack of trust” “Subordinates don’t like to be responsible for taking decisions” “We work if only we are under control” “Managers make those decisions they think are "the rightest".

Traits of managers Swedish: “Ambitious (we put a lot of effort into our work and always want to make progress)” “Quite humble (doesn’t always claim to have the right answer just because he is a manager)” Russian: “Managers are hardworking, responsible” “They are obstinate and aim-oriented” “They don’t delegate our duties. “Not risk taking”

Male/female leadership Swedish: “Women don't strive to be better than men but only to prove themselves not being worse!” “Feminism is probably more widely spread here in Sweden” Russian: “Nowadays it is difficult for women to struggle with the fact that it is the stereotype that men are better managers then women” “Women don't want to prove that they are better managers than men. They want to tell everybody that they are not worse then males.”

Swedish and Russian ways of management Having analyzed two absolutely different ways of management we can say the following: We have various values in management, principles and attitude to way of running business If you are going to have a deal with Swedish partners, you should take into consideration all cultural and managerial clashes
