2. Location The Blue Ridge mountains area is found in the northeastern part of Georgia north of the Piedmont. It sits on the Eastern continental divide of the United States which goes through half of GA. The Blue Ridge makes up the Appalachian trail and the Ridge and Valley area. 3. Minerals in the Blue Ridge • In the Blue Ridge there are many types of minerals. People in 1829 found gold in the Blue Ridge , it was the first gold rush in America. The gold from the Blue Ridge helps run computers , cell phones , and space shuttles.

4. Rivers and Streams on the bank of Blue Ridge • There are many types of rivers and streams that go down the upper part of the Blue Ridge. The main rivers are the Chattahoochee river, the Savannah river, the Tallulah river and the Amicalola falls. .

5. Mountains in the Blue Ridge • The main mountains in the Blue Ridge are the Appalachian mountains, Adirondack mountains, Brushy mountains and Black Rock mountains. Theirs also mountains like the Brasstown Bald, Springer mountains, Blood mountains, Rabun Bald, Sawnee mountains, and Currahee mountains.

6. The Animals of the Blue Ridge There are many types of animals in the Blue Ridge. There are deer, raccoons, black bears, opossums, gray squirrels, red squirrels, gray and red foxes, coyotes, mountain lions, rattle snakes and copper heads. Theirs also animals like the black (garter) snakes, grass snakes, weasels, moles, rabbits, chipmunks, groundhogs, river otters, skunks, bats, beavers, bob cats and gray wolves. Theirs also insects like the tiger swallow tail butterflies, monarch butterflies, robins, jays, woodpeckers, vireos, warblers, wrens, herons, finches, hummingbirds, sparrows, owls, hawks, falcons, vultures, ducks, and geese and more.

7. Rocks in the Blue Ridge • One type of rock found in the Blue Ridge is Metamorphic marble. It’s also from Sedimentary limestone. Many scientist believe that marble has been formed in the Blue Ridge for almost 500, million years.

8. What the Blue Ridge is known for The blue ridge region is named the blue ridge because of how its land is formed. The Blue Ridge is also known for it’s beauty and sky blue appearance from the distance or up close.

9. The Climate in the Blue Ridge In the Blue Ridge the climate is usually sunny and windy because when there are lot of mountains it rejects the suns light. Example:

10. Habitat Changes in the Blue Ridge • In the Blue Ridge it is not that easy to make a habitat change because the mountains are pretty strong. But sometimes the mountains can get rusty and can not hold up habitat weight. And these are the stuff that make a habitat change, fires, tornados, hurricanes, and earth quakes.

11. Soil in the Blue Ridge The soil in the Blue Ridge is well covered by drained acidic brownish loamy soils. The soil in the blue ridge has to be very strong so it can hold up all of the mountains.

12. Plants in the Blue Ridge • In the Blue Ridge there are many plants. There are Bareroot plant, Potted plant, Silene Virginica Fire Pink, Geranium Maculatum Wild plant, Arismea Truiphyllum Jack plant, Lobelia Cardinalis Red plant, Podophyllum Peltatum may apple and the azalea wild flower. The similarity between a azalea and a rhododendrons is that they are both generally smaller in size than a blossom stem.

13. Physical Features • The Blue Ridge looks like how it feels. It is made up of rocky stone mountains and many hiking trails. It’s mountains are covered in gray Igneous rock.
