  2. Many are Skeptical • “I don’t know whether God exists.” • “Who is God, anyway?” • “I just don’t ‘get it’ about God, the Bible and Christianity!” • “Why does God care about me?” • “Why should I care about God?”

  3. Most Have Some Concept of God • Ancient Athens – Acts 17:16, 22-23 • Popular notions of God include: • An all loving, never condemning, ecumenical God • A vengeful, murderous God of the Muslim extremists • Then, some refuse God – Rom. 1:28 • God is not defined by man – Jer. 10:23

  4. Who is God? • How would you introduce God to someone? • Why would God care about me? • Why should I care about God?

  6. To Come to God,One Must… • Believe God exists (“God is”) • Believe God rewards those who diligently seek Him Hebrews 11:6

  10. God Rewards Diligent Seekers • We learn how to seek God by His revelation – Acts 17:27-28, 30 • We only know God rewards faith because He has said He does! – Heb. 11:6

  11. Who is God? Creative, all-knowing & all-powerful, all-holy & eternal Supreme Being, who has communicated His will to us, His creatures

  12. Why Would God Care About Me? • Because He created you & sustains you – Acts 17:26-28 (Gen. 1:26-28) • Because He wants what is best for you (He loves you) • Your physical life, Acts 14:17 (Psa. 145:15-16; 146:7; 136:25) • Your spiritual life, Gen. 2:17; 3:15; Jno. 3:16; Rom. 5:8; 1 Jno. 4:10

  13. Why Should I Care About God? • Because He rewards faithful living – Hebrews 11:6 • Because He justly punishes all sin • The flood in the days of Noah • Repent because judgment is coming, Acts 17:30-31 • Fearful thing, Heb. 10:31; 12:25, 29 • Goodness & severity of God, Rom. 2:2-6; 11:22
