A cell is like the bank

Explore the different parts of a cell by comparing them to various elements of a bank. Learn how the cell membrane, cytoplasm, lysosome, mitochondria, ribosomes, endoplasmic reticulum, Golgi body, nuclear membrane, nucleus, and chromosomes contribute to the overall functioning of a cell.

  1. A cell is like the bank By Kathleen

  2. A cell membrane • Is like the outside of a bank • Protects the cell, and keeps the money inside

  3. Cytoplasm • Is like the floor • Fills the cell and gives you a place to walk

  4. Lysosome • It is like a restroom • Breaks down molecuels and takes it down the toilet

  5. Mitochondria • Is like the tellers • Supplys energy for the cell and do the work

  6. ribosomes • Is like the air that is in the bank • Makes proteins for the cell and gives air to breath

  7. Endoplasmic reticulum • Is like the money • Makes room for the cells reactions and they send new money in .

  8. Golgi Body • Is like the vault • Carries proteins and holds the money

  9. Nuclear membrane • Is like the president of the banks office • Allows materials to pass in and out and lets people in his office

  10. Nucleus • Is like the president of the bank • Controls all cell activity and tells people when they don’t have to work

  11. chromosomes • Is ;like the bank records • A thread of DNA and tells you bank records
