The quarterback gets the ball hiked to him from the center to must try and throw the football to a receiver.

GYM FLAG FOOTBALL • Ending a Play in Flag Football • The play ends when one of the following occurs: • 1. Someone pulls your flag off • 2. Your flag falls off • 3. You step out of bounds • 4. The ball is fumbled • 5. A pass is incomplete • 6. A touchdown is scored GAME ETIQUETTE • No Flag Guarding • Proper Placement of the flags on your hips
GYM FLAG FOOTBALL • SCORING in FLAG FOOTBALL • 1. In regular football a touchdown is worth six points and your get a chance to try for a point after touchdown (PAT) • 2. In gym football a touchdown is worth one point and you do not get a chance to try for a PAT • 3. The offense scores a point by throwing a completed pass across the defending team’s goal line. • 4. The defense can score a touchdown by intercepting a pass and running into the opposite end zone from where the offense is trying to score. OFFICIALS • The referee is in charge of running the game. • The referee is the one who determines if the ball has been caught or not. • The referee is the one who enforces all penalties. • The referee determines whether a team gets a touchdown or a first down.
GYM FLAG FOOTBALL • OTHER IMPORTANT INFORMATION • 1. The Center will hike the ball to Quarterback to start the play. • 2. Line of Scrimmage: Invisible horizontal line that runs the length of the football and the width of the field. It is where the ball is placed before the start of each play. • 3. Downs – Attempts to move the football closer to the other team’s goal line. • 4. Rushing – Going after the Quarterback’s flag. • 5. Interception – When the football is thrown by the quarterback and the defensive team catches the ball. • 6. End Zone – The area the team with the football is trying to go to score a touchdown
