EMWIS next steps • Strategy validated by EuroMed WD • Working groups for transfer of know-how under preparation • First draft proposal provided to AidCo (2007-2010) • Written support from Water Directors: LB, CY, MA, TR, IL, TN • Willingness from France, Spain and Italy to fund the next phase • Missing steps • Evaluation • AidCo call for tenders (or other procedure) • Current contract extension under negotiation (till Nov’07)

4. Review of the technical architecture Status • Selection of a provider based on a service call for tenders • Invitation to tender sent in June 2005 to 18 applicants • 4 applications received • Contract started with FINSIEL in Sept’05 • New technological platform for the TU • Web Content Management System developed for the European Environment Agency also used by the SMAP-RMSU (clearing house) • Open Source software • The solution includes a web portal builder for NFP or other organisations • The portal is multilingual: Arabic, English and French. But open to other languages
