  3. Situations can be specific: It depends on the speaker’s or writer’s usage of the future tense. Some expressions have no difference: I am traveling to France in May I am going to travel to France in May.

  4. Going To A planned event When something has already been decided (prior) Certain, you can see something is about to happen based upon evidence now (a sign or situation right now)

  5. Examples: I am going to get married in July. I am going on vacation next week. Our team is going to win. Right now the score is 20 to 2 and we only have two minutes left of the game.

  6. Will Predict future events that are not certain (no present sign, situation) Instant decision Offer or request

  7. Examples: The boy will go to his friend’s house later. The door bell rang and I said, “I’ll get it!” Will you help me carry this heavy box? I will give you money to buy lunch.

  8. Present Continuous To discuss future plans, appointments, arrangementswith a specific time in the future mentioned.

  9. Examples: I am watching TV tonight. She is leaving town in the morning. The Martinez Family is singing in the Saturday performance.
