Los Comparativos. In English, we use. “ more…than ,”. “ less…than ,”. or “ …-er than ”. to compare things to others. Examples: Benjamin is more athletic than José. Diana is less tired than Paco. Marta is tall er than Sara. Marcos and Samuel are smart er than Julio and Ramón.

  1. Los Comparativos In English, we use “more…than,” “less…than,” or “ …-erthan” to compare things to others. Examples: Benjamin is more athletic than José. Diana is less tired than Paco. Marta is tallerthan Sara. Marcos and Samuel are smarterthan Julio and Ramón.

  2. Los Comparativos The Spanish is formed similarly using “más…que” or “menos…que.” The “…er” like in English does not exist!! Ejemplos: Benjamín es más deportista que José. Diana es menos cansada que Paco. Marco es más alto que Sara. Marcos y Manuel son menos inteligentes que Julio.

  3. Los Comparativos (Regular) Noun(s) + verb* + más/menos + adjective** + que + noun(s). El inglés es más difícil que el español. Los muchachos son menos simpáticos que las muchachas. Make sure your verbs and adjectives agree with your subject!!!

  4. Práctica de Los Comparativos (Regular) Ejemplos The movie is more exciting than the book. The actresses are more realistic than the actors. The show is more boring than the commercials. Cartoons are funnier than comedies. La película es más emociante que el libro. Las actrices son más realistas que los actores. El programa es más aburrido que los anuncios. Dibujos animados son más cómicos que las comedias.

  5. Los Comparativos (Irregular) Of course, there are irregulars. If you want to say… …better than… …worse than… …older than… or …younger than…, DO NOT USE más or menos !!! Use …better than… …worse than… …older than… …younger than… mejor(es) que peor(es) que mayor(es) que menor(es) que

  7. Los Comparativos (Irregular) Mariana es buena estudiante. Marisol es mejor estudiante que Mariana. Gregorio es mal actor. Bernardo es peor actor que Gregorio. Graciela y Cristina son viejas. Juan y Pablo son mayores que Graciela y Cristina. Fabián y Arturo son jóvenes. Sergio y Manuela son menores que Fabián y Arturo.

  8. Práctica de Los Comparativos Homer is more lazy than Marge. Bart is is less smart than Lisa. Bart and Lisa are older than Maggie. The Family Guy is funnier than The Simpsons. MTV is (a) better channel than VH1. Homer es más perezoso que Marge. Bart es menos inteligente que Lisa. Bart y Lisa son mayores que Maggie. El Tío Familiar es más cómico que Los Simpson. MTV es mejor canal que VH1.
