As a child, we were told that a tooth fairy will come to take our extracted tooth in exchange of a gift, which almost every kid believed. This might have been the reason why most kid around the age of four to eight does not want to properly clean their teeth in the hopes of the tooth fairy visiting their room. Aside from that, lack of proper knowledge about the importance of dental care is the primary reason why kids and adult alike tend to lose a tooth and is experiencing tooth decay. There are also other reasons as to why people do not go to the dentist regularly and some of those reasons are:
Reason # 1: Finding a dentist that is near is difficult It has been acknowledged that millions and millions of people finds it hard to find a dentist that is living nearby, someone that they can go to in case of a dental problem. It is not easy for a community to go miles and miles just to have their teeth professionally cleaned, which is why, many opt for a decaying teeth rather than have a regular dental visit. In addition to this, to have a proper knowledge about oral hygiene promotional ads or instructions from the dentist itself finds it hard to reach the people living in faraway places. Even a dentist open Saturdays may find it hard to wait for a patient.
Reason # 2: Lack of Time Due to many parents that find it hard to get a time off from work, many of their children suffer from the dental problem. Some parents tend get so busy that they find it so hard to find a time to get off to their work. For some parents who have someone to take care of their kid, going to the dentist can be covered. But, many finds it hard to find someone to take care of their kid, worst, they find it hard to pay someone.
Reason # 3: Lack of Insurance and money to cover the cost The cost of going to a dentist is quite pricey, which is why people do not go to the dentist regularly. A big chunk can be taken off in just some simple procedure and millions of people are known to not have dental insurance to cover their future needs. In addition to this, even to those with dental insurance still needs to take a big amount of money from their own pocket
