The FLAMINGOS Extragalactic Survey provides unique leverage on Galaxy and Star Formation History, Mass Accretion, and Cosmological Parameters at z=1-2. Targeting 10 deg2 with Ks=20.5, J=22 (Vega), this survey explores Northern and Southern Fields integrating various data sources. Completed observations in Fall 2004 aim to release Boots data by late 2004 and Cetus data by spring 2005 for in-depth analysis. Key part of multiwavelength effort in NDWFS.

Survey Status • Have imaged 6.8 sq. degrees with 14 nights remaining • Averaging ~50% usable nights so far • Expect to have ~8-8.5 sq. degrees by end of 2004 • Bootes: 4.65 sq. deg • Cetus: ~3.5-4 sq. deg • Data >80% reduced • Initial series of papers planned for summer/fall
Data Products and Data Release • J & Ks merged photometric catalog • SExtractor output • Subarcsecond astrometry • Merged with NDWFS catalog Bootes data release planned for late 2004 Cetus data release planned for spring 2005
The FLAMINGOS Extragalactic Survey: First High-Redshift Cluster Candidates • Preliminary detection using wavelets for J-Ks=1.75-2.5 • Will eventually utilize photo-z’s (BVIJKs)
Summary • The FLAMINGOS Extragalactic Survey is almost complete! • Last observations in fall 2004 • Final area ~8-8.5 deg2 • Complete Bootes data release by late 2004 • Matched J & Ks catalogs • Plan to also release merged catalogs with NDWFS • Key element of the large multiwavelength effort in NDWFS
