What Should You Know About Interoperability Testing? Introduction It is testing to check whether a component can interact with other components of the software. Checks the functionality between two systems (software) as per the need. Validates that the end-to-end functionality between two systems is as per the requirement. Need for Testing To ensure that end-to-end service is being provided across two or more applications involved in the system.
The systems can be from different vendors and may have various architectures or may use different technologies. There should not be compatibility issues for any communication that takes place. There should not be issues between the different conditions involved. The data being exchanged is not modified and is in its original state. Step Involved Setting up of test environment Creating a test case. Execution of test case. Test Result Analysis Conducting Retests
Test Environment Set Up The environment has to be set up for interoperability testing. Creating Test Cases Different test cases have to be designed to check various scenarios and connection behaviours. Execution of Test Cases Once test cases are made, they have to be executed on the environment, which is set-up. Analysis of Results After execution, all test results have to be analyzed and verified. Defects identified should be noted and resolved. Retest After resolution, tests should be performed again. Issues should be resolved.
