ECDL No prior knowledge of IT or skill in computing is needed to study ECDL It is designed for people wishing to gain a benchmark qualification in computing to enhance their career prospects or for personal development The skills gained over the course of the qualification will not only improve your career options, but take the frustration out of using your computer on an everyday basis by boosting both your efficiency and your confidence.

  3. ECDL - Overview The basic ECDL qualification is broken down into two levels: ECDL Essentials and ECDL Extra. These can be taken individually to obtain single certificates, or together to achieve the overall ECDL qualification. ECDL Essentials is a Level 1 ITQ Award and consists of 3 modules. ECDL Extra is a Level 2 ITQ Certificate and consists of 4 modules

ECDL - Overview ECDL Extra ECDL Essentials Word Processing IT User Fundamentals Spreadsheet Software Using Email and the Internet Presentation Software Improving Productivity using IT Security for IT users Full Level 2 ITQ Certificate Level 1 ITQ Award • The modules that comprise ECDL • IT User Fundamentals(Level 1 - Essentials) • Using Email and the Internet(Level 1 - Essentials) • Security for IT Users(Level 1 - Essentials) • Word processing(Level 2 - Extra) • Spreadsheet Software(Level 2 - Extra) • Presentation Software(Level 2 - Extra) • Improving Productivity Using IT(Level 2 - Extra)

  5. ECDL - How to study Study will be undertaken at Kings Heath Boys School during allocated times, and will require between 100-130 hours of study overall.
