Course intentions • To increase your awareness and understanding of the structure of schools (especially urban schools) as places in which you as a teacher will be expected to teach all students • describe the profession of teaching and will recognize how you fit into the profession; • recognize and describe various educational movements that are designed to teach all students; • describe the social, political, and economic structures of urban schools; • and articulate and debate issues that are critical to urban schools.

Course Grades • Total of 300 points • 110 Points (Topical Assignments) • 190 Points (Semester Assignments) • Grade Breakdown • 276 – 300 pts A • 252 – 275 B • 210 – 251 C • 180 – 209 D • 179 or Below F
