Spandana :: Mission -    Our goal as a charitable foundation is to help and aid the poor and the deprived people in the field of Basic Living, Education and health. -    Spandana main objective is to motivate and involve youth in service activities. Spandana encourages youth to take up service activities at their native place/school by giving matching grants and facilitating the service activities. We at Spandana Foundation believe that you do not need to be very rich or spend full time to help the people at back home in India. Spandana :: Overview • Started by few like minded individuals in 2004. • Established as a group in 2005. • Supported students based on internet news articles in 2005-06. • Supported 600+ students thru own projects in 2007. • Registered as not-for-profit organization in 2007. • Supported 2000+ students under PRATIBHA in 2008. • Established as largest organization with 1000+ members in 2009. • Established as 501(C) (3) tax exempt organization in 2009. • Supporting 3000+ students under PRATIBHA in 2009. • Supported more than 6000 underprivileged so far!   6. Spandana :: Pratibha Helping the talented students in need reach their full potential, by granting them the opportunities that are extremely vital! Spandana's Pratibha project is aimed at providing financial and moral encouragement to deserving poor students, and making their dreams of higher education a reality. • CHelping talented but poor students pursue professional studies • CSponsoring very poor students from rural areas for their secondary and higher • secondary education • COffering merit awards to encourage academic excellence among students with poor • background • COrganizing Events and Seminars to create awareness on various career • opportunities and self-employment programs.   10. Spandana :: Vidyalaya Paving the way for a nation's glorious future, by strengthening the backbones of it's schooling infrastructure! The Vidyalaya project aims to clear such road blocks in the government schools and colleges across Andhra Pradesh, by providing some basic facilities and amenities that enable effective teaching and learning environments CDeveloping the infrastructure (School Buildings, Class Rooms, Desks, etc.) CCreating a better environment by providing Drinking Water, Sanitation and Amenities C  Arranging an additional teacher (paid volunteer) until the government provides a sufficient number of teachers required for the students CProviding Learning/Teaching materials to the school/college libraries. Spandana :: Aashraya Supporting the victims of a powerful natural calamity, by displaying the force and compassion of humanity! • The Aashraya project's endeavor is to help poor people affected by calamities like cyclones, floods, etc,. • Provide shelter and basic necessities during natural calamities • Construct houses for poor and needy • Establish Orphanage and Old age homes Spandana Foundation.   15. Spandana :: Aashraya 2007 Place : Bodagunta Village, Mopidevi Mandal, Krishna Dist. Project : Construction of homes for Flood Affected Villages Project Cost : 225$ per family X 10 Families = 2250 $ = 100000 INR Note:- This project is only to help people under AP Govt., Indiramma scheme to provide initial amount of Rs.10,000. Hundreds of NRI’s have taken advantage of this model and made a positive difference at their School and in their village for past 3 years. Charity Cricket Tournaments Spandana organized charity tournaments in the following locations to raise funds: • West palm beach, FL • Bloomington, IL • Bay Area, CA $ 15,000 has been raised so far from these 3 tournaments. Planning to schedule tournaments in the following locations: • Simi Valley, CA • Los Angels, CA • Irving, TX • Scranton, PA • Edison, NJ • Hyderabad, AP • Bangalore, KN Help Spandana to raise funds by organizing events. Children Charity Fund Raiser “Kids for Kids” • A great many number of meritorious but poor kids in India dream about overcoming financial hurdles and pursuing their higher education. • Kids here in USA dream of making a difference to society through acts of community service. • we at Spandana Foundation believe that every child deserves an opportunity to realize his/her dreams! • Spandana aims to take these children one-step closer to fulfilling their dreams, with generous help from individuals, businesses, and yes, KIDS! Language Promotion • Spandana organizing several events to encourage NRI kids to learn their mother tongue in USA. • Padyaala Thoranam – Telugu Padyaalu • Manorang – Marathi Shlokas Spandana organized these programs successfully in Bloomington-IL , Simi Valley-CA and Bay Area-CA so far.
