Dear Parents, In November, we started to do more hands-on cooking. We used a lot of cooking equipments such as microwave oven, blender and electric stove. The students were very excited about it. We prepared some simple recipes. We used fruit in most of our recipes which they find it very healthy and delicious. They like cutting and mixing the ingredients as well. They all enjoyed having a different kind of experience in cooking. OCTOBER Recipe Recipe 1: Apple and Banana Compote Recipe 2: Fruit Shake Recipe 3: Pancakes

Dear Parents, This month, we had another three fun stories that the students had enjoyed listening to. The stories focus more on being “unique.” All the characters in the stories have their own extra ordinary personalities in their own little way: Olivia,a feisty pig who has too much energy for her own good; Freckleface Strawberry, a girl who’s different just like everyone else and; Madeline, a very brave and courageous girl whose not afraid of anything. The students just love each and every book for they themselves can somehow relate to all the stories. The books definitely delivered positive messages to all the students! CONVERSATION CLASS with Teacher Kelley This month we focused on clothing, colors, animals and Winter in our conversation class!
Winter Clothing and Activities • We read the story “Winter is Here” and practiced saying winter, clothes, I am cold, and take off/Zip up your jacket
We practiced short conversations: “My favorite color is… BLUE!” “My favorite food is… Noodles!”
Christmas and Winter Activities • We talked about sledding, ice-skating, gingerbread man and building snow men! • We had a great November and will start to learn new words and phrases next month! Best Wishes- Teacher Kelley
We Also learned 5th position • And how to do proper jumps in 5th • 5th position is one of the most challenging positions…I encourage all my students to practice at home!
Turns, Leaps and Balancing • It is key to develop balance and rhythm as the building blocks for learning ballet and other forms of dance • Therefore, we focus on doing several balancing exercises on each foot… once they were ready I began teaching them turns and jumps! • They had a great month in dance class and we look forward to sharing our dance routine with the parents soon!
