David Hockney • In a lengthy career as one of Britain's most celebrated artists he has embraced most art forms. • Now David Hockney has mastered the art of communication - by using his phone to paint pictures. • The 71-year-old has taken to using the touchscreen of his iPhone to create mini-masterpieces • http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qvyHAGVeMAs • http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CqQZIejCIVg • http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xumXy_F-imY • http://boingboing.net/2009/10/20/david-hockneys-iphon.html
David Hockney • Hockney has had the phone for only four months, but has already turned it into a hi-tech canvas. It even fits neatly on a miniature easel in his London studio. • He has painted flowers and drawn landscapes on the iPhone, directly on the colour screen with his thumb.
David Hockney • The artist is not exactly new to embracing the wonders of technology. • He has executed prints by fax, used Polaroid photographs in collages and in 1985 he was commissioned to draw with a computer program called QuantelPaintbox. • Now, as well the iPhone, Hockney has also been using a more typical computer screen as a canvas, drawing with a stylus on to an electronic tablet plugged into his computer. www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1175521/iHockney-Artist-David-uses-Apple-phone-paint-mini-masterpieces.html#ixzz1aJ2wnrhR
