P.E. Dress Code • Uniform – must be grey or maroon. • No hoods, zippers, pockets, snaps or buttons • Must have athletic shoes/must be tied • Must have white athletic socks • Only your name can be written on your clothes: Last name and first initial • Must tuck shirt in, even during the mile • You can only wear one set of PE clothes
P.E. Dress Code • Non-suit/Loaners • Must get loaners if you forget your clothes • 1st = warning • 2nd = detention • 3rd = referral • Must have I.D. for loaners • Improper shoes results in a non-suit (slip on, untied, non athletic, etc.) • You may not wear an undershirt/tank top under your PE clothes
P.E. Dress Code • Sweats • Only when sign says “Sweats Yes.” • Must be Grey or maroon with no hoods, zippers, pockets, snaps, buttons or logos • Shirt/Shorts must be under sweats • Other • PE clothes can be worn only during PE • You may not wear any PE clothes with the name crossed off
P.E. Dress Code • Jewelry • No jewelry is allowed. Except stud earrings • 1st = Taken by teacher/given back next day • 2nd = Parent note for item release • 3rd = Parent must come and pick up items
Conduct • Locker Room • Dress in front of locker, not in bathroom • Do not enter unless accompanied by a teacher • No running, chasing, or horseplay of any kind • Do not throw any object – automatic referral • No gum, food, or drinks • No keyed locks • No glass or aerosol cans • Keep your combo a secret (do not share locks) • You may only use your assigned locker
Conduct • Locker Room • Only Teachers and TA’s are allowed in the loaner room • Laptop computers are not allowed in the locker room • If you find anything that does not belong to you turn it into a teacher
Conduct • Blacktop • Absolutely no food on the blacktop at any time • The dead zone is the area between the Fitness Center and the lunch court. You may not enter this area without teacher permission. • After dressing out you must go immediately to your number and sit • When waiting for your next class you must wait behind the red line.
Conduct • Other • Equipment can only be used with teacher permission • You must lock your lock at all times • You may not run up or down the bleachers • If you lose anything see a teacher • Sagging your pants is an automatic referral • You can bring water or Gatorade to PE only when your teacher allows
Conduct • PHAT Hawks – Physically Healthy Active Teens • Must pass 6 of 6 of the California State Fitness Standards • Must not receive more than three total discipline marks and no more than one per category • Must have a grade of an A for the current Trimester • Each student receiving this award will get a PHAT Hawk T-shirt to wear during PE
Attendance • Absence • See your teacher upon return for make up work • An absence does not excuse you from class work • Tardy • You must sit on your number before the dress bell rings or you are tardy
Attendance • Parent Medical Notes – you still must dress out • Parent notes last up to three days (must be specified) • Should be given to teacher at beginning of class • Must be written by a legal guardian • Must include the following: • Date written/Date of excuse • Parent signature • Specific limitations • Parent daytime phone number
Attendance • Doctor Medical Notes • Must be on medical letterhead • More than one week = sent to the library • More than six weeks per Trimester = removed from class
Emergency Procedures • Fire & Earthquakes • Listen to your teacher • Line up in roll call order • Walk in straight lines to your teacher’s area on the field (no talking + sit down)

Grading • Grading Scale: • 40% - Knowledge and Demonstration of Fitness Concepts. • 40% - Knowledge and Demonstration of Motor Skills • 20% - Citizenship
