  2. So this is what we started with…a blank canvas….

  3. Had to first make sure there was room for a pool…. Mark Allen with Soil & Environmental Consultants PA, Raleigh, NC locating our septic lines Sep 2009

  4. Decided to add a Garden Shed as well so had to make room for it…. The crew with Campbell Propane, Youngsville, NC moving the gas line so it wouldn’t interfere with shed Dec 2009

  5. Had a couple of trees that needed to be removed as well… Tommy Hicks of Tommy Hicks Tree Service, Garner, NC, makes short work of my two trees. Jan 2010

  6. The garden shed was the first to start construction… Material deliveries and site prep began in February. General Contracting was by Olde Heritage Builders, Zebulon NC, who also built our house. Feb 2010

  7. Work on the shed continued in Feb… Digging and pouring the shed footings. Feb 2010

  8. Work on the shed continued in Feb… Laying the shed foundation. Feb 2010

  9. Starting to look like a finished building… The shed was framed in a single day. Mar 2010

  10. Starting to look like a finished building… Siding and doors came next… Mar 2010

  11. The finished garden shed… Just needs the concrete in front but that had to wait for the pool… Mar 2010

  12. Finally the day came to start the pool… Marking and breaking ground. Pool installation by Hubert Coates, Dunn, NC. Mar 24 2010

  13. A whole lot of digging… Finished hole prep in one day, ready to install the pool. Pool was purchased from Fiberglass Pool Depot, Dunn NC, Leisure Pools Riviera 30 model. Mar 25 2010

  14. Delivery and installation day has arrived… The crane arrived first… Mar 25 2010

  15. Delivery and installation day has arrived… And here comes the pool… Mar 25 2010

  16. Delivery and installation day has arrived… Up and over the house…that was quite a sight to see Mar 25 2010

  17. Delivery and installation day has arrived… And right in the hole, fits like a glove.… Mar 25 2010

  18. Plumbing started as soon as the pool was set… Some backfill completed and pool halfway filled with water on same day as install. Mar 25 2010

  19. Next came equipment installation… Scott Jansen (and his Dad) of Jansen Electric Service completed all electrical connections. We have a running pool!! Apr 1 2010

  20. Now that the pool is running, time to start the next phase, concrete and landscaping… Concrete work by Chasen Concrete, Fuquay Varina, NC. Site prepped and forms are laid in one day. Apr 2 2010

  21. Concrete work continued over several days… Pouring the concrete, notice the cantilever forms around the pool… Apr 6 2010

  22. Concrete work continued over several days… The final product looks great and is exactly what I had in mind… Apr 10 2010

  23. Landscaping was also starting during this time… Landscaping by Oxford Green (Shawna Sowder), Raleigh, NC. Drainage lines were laid under the concrete to collect and drain water from backyard Apr 2 2010

  24. Landscaping continues… First step was to remove the existing lawn and form birms… Apr 8 2010

  25. Landscaping continues… More birms were added and additional drainage as well… Apr 10 2010

  26. Landscaping continues… And here come the plants… Apr 10 2010

  27. Landscaping continues… Planting continued for several days… Apr 12 2010

  28. Landscaping continues… Palm trees were then added and the water feature was started… Apr 16 2010

  29. Fencing was the last major element… Fencing provided by Seegars Fence Company, Raleigh, NC. Apr 26 2010

  30. And then it was done…the final product
