  2. Restate Thesis:words the thesis in a new way • First sentence of conclusion: • The government, then, protects all man’s rights by taking some away. • The conscience of man must never be silenced. • Without evil, what is good could never be determined.

  3. Key Ideas/Claims:reasons your thesis has been correct throughout the essay • Next 2-4 sentences • Without rules, chaos would undoubtedly take over. In addition to the rules, there must be an enforcer to keep the deviants in line. And finally, punishment must be executed to rebuke the behavior that breaks the rules.

  4. Universal Significance/Zinger:leaves reader with something to think about • Last sentence of conclusion • Man’s goodness, then, spreads throughout the world. • Others’ rights would be nothing without protection. • Aggressors cannot be allowed to make the innocent live in fear.

  5. Format:the flow and structure of the paragraph • Conclusions are at least 1 paragraph • Papers of this size should only be 1 paragraph • Use transitions to connect all of the sections of the conclusion
