I really only have time to put down my thoughts, not organize them... Sort of throwing them all at you with this review.I really am enjoying this series. For the record, I am not one of the teen members for whom it was intended, I am a member of the MUCH older crowd. I am looking forward to a third book

2. to wrap up the storyline. I fell in love with Aelyx and Cara in Alienated, and that is still true after reading Invaded. However, after the 2nd, I am now curious about others as well like, Cara's brother Troy will he have a chance with Elle? Syrine, what will happen to her after this second great tragedy? David - Is there hope? Jaxen and his (whatever she is) will they get what's coming to them? What is going to happen on the Colony and Earth... the list goes on. I think a lot of readers will be left wanting should this be the final book. I read that Disney is waiting to see what kind of sales they get from this one before deciding on a 3rd, and I hate that. Either commit to finishing the series, or leave it at one book! Stopping in the middle of a series is just mean.Back to reviewing this one. I was surprised at the few 1- star reviews. They stated that they were disappointed, but failed to explain why. So I don't want to do that with my "I loved it".No book is perfect and this is no exception. Like most, I was frustrated that Cara and Aelyx had to be apart for most of it, but I did enjoy getting to know them as individuals too. In the first they are immediately thrown together so we never really get a feel for who they are without the other. I liked that they showed Cara to be strong enough to push through living on a planet where she knew absolutely no one. That isn't something an average 17 year old could do. I'm not sure it would be easy at any age, and it wasn't easy for Cara, but she managed it well.I really enjoyed the descriptions of the planet - I could almost smell the citrus and feel the calm/quiet that she describes.I wish she'd done a little more with some of the clone's though. Certainly ONE of them could have been curious and maybe even liked Cara?I loved David, and was quite disappointed at the end with what happened to him (though I did suspect him early on after he pointed out the insider theory). I did NOT however, expect what happened to him.I never understood how Aisly was so understanding of Jaxen's obsession with Cara. It didn't make sense given he was supposed to be her consort. IF their relationship really was more like brother and sister (and different than the queen and consort from whom they were cloned), she didn't do enough to explain that.I also felt Alona was too flat. She was such an important leader that I thought she deserved a bit more description. Maybe more personality at least.The two things that annoyed me with the book was 1. Her mother's dog. I thought her interaction with him was silly and unnecessary. And 2. Cara and Troy's constant inabilty to be real together. Troy could never tell her he cared - really? The guy has to be at least 21. Grow up for goodness sake. That interaction would have been more believable if they'd been say 12. The two issues just took up space in the book that could have been better utilized.All in all I did enjoy the 2nd book, and I think I my 4-star review is accurate, if a 3rd is on the way. First books are always best because they hook us. 2nd books are necessary for information and bridges to bring on the 3rd conclusion book. IF there won't be a 3rd book, my review of this one would drop to 2-3 stars because it would leave us with many more questions than closure. This was enjoyable and is a great bridge book. Loved!By Erin ChelseaThe book starts off sad (begins where the novella leaves off) with Aelyx going back to Earth and Cara going to L'iehr. It is told in dual POV switching off from Aelyx and Cara. Upon arriving back on Earth Aelyx faces multiple assassination attempts where Cara is being shunned by almost everyone on L'eihr. Aelyx is on a tour of the country showing the people of Earth that they aren't there to harm them but go bring peace and unite them. Cara is having trouble fitting in but her brother stays behind with her for a while to help her adjust and she works with Elyx on improving her Silent Speech with she eventually masters while working with a child in the nursery. Throughout them being apart they "Skype" with their com-spheres just about daily. Then things start getting weird on L'eihr when "meteors" start falling but they don't look L'eihr made. Cara finds one and investigates it and she and Aelyx figure out what it is and why the alliance with Earth is so important. Without giving away in spoilers I will say the smaller problem of Cara feeling like she doesn't belong on L'eihr gets resolved but a bigger problem of the story is left wide open. Things between Aelyx and Cara are left on a good note but how the new issue will be resolved is left wide open. I suspect Melissa Landers will write another story to complete this one. Overall, I found book two to be just as good as the first. I finished it within hours of starting and couldn't put it down. A good sequelBy Ashley TomlinsonIt's been awhile since I read Alienated, like over a year. So I was worried that when I started Invaded that I wouldn't be able to get into it but that did not happen. I immediately jumped back into the story like I just read it yesterday. I love the way Melissa Landers writes. The lines are witty and the characters can have some funny comebacks.I love Cara so much. She feels real to me, sure she does unbelievable things sometimes. Like moving to another planet to be with the alien boy that she loves. Okay, to some people that sounds crazy but I don't think so. I rooted so hard for Cara and Aelyx in the first book and even harder for them in this book.A lot of the book was hard to read because of how much the characters struggled. Cara was struggling with being one of the only earthlings on this planet. Aelyx was struggling with people constantly trying to kill him. I found Cara's situation a little annoying because it felt so much like high school drama to me. She didn't fit in and was being bullied by the other kids, ugh, just stop. I also didn't like that it seemed like it was going to be love triangle-y and I hate love triangles.In the end, I liked this book. I look forward to finishing this series with reading United. Cara always knew life on planet L'eihr would be an adjustment. With Aelyx, her L'eihr boyfriend, back on Earth, working to mend the broken alliance between their two planets, Cara is left to fend for herself at a new school, surrounded by hostile alien clones.
