  1. Mark Nardini My goal is to create the most beautiful oil portrait possible as well as a timeless work of art in its own right. I follow a set procedure to ensure that eac of my oil portraits are of the highest standard and quality. I use the finest materials and time-honored techniques for longevity of the portrait. With care, oil portraits on linen canvas will last many hundreds of years and grant future generations the legacy to perceive both the personality and likeness of the subject.

  2. PROCEDURE The first step is to meet, get better acquainted and discuss the specifics of your portrait. At this initial meeting we will discuss pose, clothing, setting and complete a photo shoot. At the conclusion of the photo shoot (approximately 2 hours), we will make final selections that will be used to create the portrait in the studio. Following the photo selection, I will complete a head sketch in oil of the subject from life. This is a valuable color resource when planning the final portrait. After returning to the studio I will paint a small color study to convey a sense of what finished portrait will look like. After the study is approved, I begin the final portrait.
