1. Carrying Capacity- The number of organisms of one species that an environment can support. Example: When the flood occurred last spring many animals could not find food and they died
2. Demongraphy- the study of human population growth characteristics. Much of the demographics gather on people come form the Census report taken by the government
3. Immigration- the movement of individuals into a population.
4.Emigration- the movement of individuals out of a population.
6. Extinction- the disappearance of a species when the last of its members dies. 7. Endangered species- when the number in a species becomes so low that it is in danger of extinction. 8. Acid precipitation- acid rain that can cause the death of trees and wildlife
9. Exotic species- are organisms that are not native to a particular region. 10. Captivity- organisms that are held by people. 11. Reintroduction programs- release organisms into areas where they once lived.
12. Conservation biology- the study of methods to preserve the Earth’s biodiversity 13. Legal protection of species- provides laws to make it illegal to hunt animals.
14. Habitat corridors are natural strips that allow migration of organisms Example: Areas that have protected life are connected to other areas with protected life. This linking allows migration.
