  1. Apex-Brasil The Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brasil) was created in 2003 as a "Autonomous Social Service Agency", which is financed by a tax levied on a contribution charged on the payroll of Brazilian companies. Apex-Brasil is accountable to the Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade of Brazil. The Ministry and Apex-Brasil have signed a management contract, which establishes annual objectives and targets related to export promotion that must be met by Apex-Brazil.

  2. Apex-Brasil With headquarters in Brasilia, Apex-Brasil has a large physical infrastructure and about 300 skilled employees in Brazil and abroad.

Apex-Brasil Mission 1: • To promote exports of Brazilian products and services: • promoting the competitive advantages of Brazilian products and services • encouraging innovation among Brazilian companies, aiming at diversification and value-adding to Brazilian products and services. • strengthening the image of Brazil as a relevant trade partner and promoting Brazilian products and services

Apex-Brasil Mission 2: To foster the competitiveness of Brazilian companies by promoting their internationalization: • To support internationalization of Brazilian enterprises in all stages, from pre-export to the establishment of subsidiaries abroad; • Apex-Brasil serves companies of all sizes and exporting stages, focusing on small and medium-sized companies.

  6. Apex-Brasil Mission 3: To attract foreign direct investment (FDI) into the country: • Apex-Brasil is focused on identifying opportunities, promoting events and providing support to foreign investors in strategic sectors of Brazilian economy.

Apex-Brasil Assistance to Brazilian companies: • Apex-Brasil currently supports 81 sectors of the Brazilian economy, divided into six large productive categories: • food and beverages; • fashion; • technology and health care; • housing and civil construction; • entertainment and services; • machinery and equipment.

Apex-Brasil Product 1: Capacity Building Services The project PEIEX (Industrial Extension for Exporting) is a project of capacity building for small and medium-sized enterprises with export potential. Under PEIEX, consultants conducts an assessment on the technical and managerial resources of companies, and then suggests measures to enable them to start a safe and focused export process.

Apex-Brasil Product 1: Capacity Building Services • Technical cooperation with universities and technological centers; • Capacity Building Services delivered to Business Associations: projects tailored for each sector of Brazilian economy; • Export-related missions and Seminars; • Seminars "Focus on Market” update Brazilian entrepreneurs on untapped business opportunities at selected countries. These seminars are broadcasted online, reaching nationwide audience.
