IBRD • The database is designed for those countries which do not have their own beacon registration database or a means for RCCs to access it 24/7.
Access to IBRD The US RCCs have a single account to access the International Beacon Registration Database. • One SAR account
IBRD SAR Account Locked Call Placed To USMCC • When a U.S. RCC user is locked out all U.S. RCCs are locked out • When this happens, the USMCC and RCCs will take the following steps: • RCC calls USMCC regarding the lock out situation • USMCC verifies the RCC caller • USMCC queries the IBRD using the alternate account available to the USMCC only • USMCC notifies all RCCs of lock out situation and informs them to go through the USMCC for IBRD information • USMCC will contact the COSPAS-SARSAT Secretariat during normal working hours to unlock the US RCC IBRD account • USMCC notifies all RCCs when the account is unlocked
IBRD SAR Account Password Forgotten • When the US RCC IBRD account password is forgotten: • RCC calls USMCC regarding forgotten password • USMCC verifies the caller • USMCC provides the password information to the RCC
