Paying attention to main events and details- such as how characters act, treat others, or respond to challenges- can help you figure out the themes of stories and plays,” page 69, Curriculum Associates, 2014. • We will have several themes that will guide our learning this year.

  6. Introductions • Play name game using adjectives. • “My name is Mrs. Looney and I am lovely.” • Students might need to use dictionary to find an adjective that begins with the first letter of the student’s name.

  8. THINGS TO DO: • PLAY THE NAME GAME. • GIVE OUT AGENDAS AND LOCKERS. • LABEL ALL SCHOOL SUPPLIES. • STUDENTS WILL USE LOCKERS INSTEAD OF DESKS. • WRITE HOMEWORK IN AGENDAS. • CHECK OUT WWW.MRSLOONEY.WEEBLY.COM EACH DAY FOR HOMEWORK ASSIGNMENTS.

Procedures Morning routine: • Enter room quietly and respectfully. • Always be in a seat in homeroom. • Leave your troubles at the door. • Remember that “All is well.” • Feel free to respectfully use the chimes. • Be sure to have everything that you need for class (pencils, highlighter, Zone book, agenda, textbook, binders, and notebooks, homework).

  11. Procedures • Walk in hallways silently. • First person out the door is responsible for opening the door all the way and putting down the stopper. • BE ON TIME FOR CLASS!!!!! ARRIVE BEFORE THE BELL RINGS. THREE TIMES LATE=DETENTION. • Do NOT pull pages out of your notebook. • Off limits: teachers’ desks, cabinets, phone.

READING EXPECTATIONS: • Feel welcome to borrow a book from my room. • Sign out the book on a library card. • TAKE VERY GOOD CARE OF THE BOOK OR YOU MAY BE RESPONSIBLE FOR REPLACING THE BOOK! • WHEN RETURNING THE BOOK, BE SURE TO HAVE MRS. LOONEY SIGN THE BOOK BACK IN OR YOU MAY BE RESPONSIBLE FOR REPLACING THE BOOK! DO NOT TELL ME THAT YOU PUT THE BOOK ON THE SHELF. I MUST SIGN THE CARD BEFORE AND AFTER YOU TAKE OUT A BOOK
