What is OJT? • Job training that occurs in the workplace. • Part of the college curriculum that aims to train and orient • students about the work and their future career. • Show students the reality about working. Page 4
What is OJT? CHED Memorandum Order No. 53 Series of 2006 Section 11. Internship/On-the-Job Training/Practicum. Internship/On-the-Job Training/Practicum is an immersion program wherein students will have the chance and opportunity to be with the IT industry. This program is important because the students will have the chance to apply the skills, knowledge and attitude learned in the school and at the same time the opportunity to experience the corporate environment. Learning expectations in the IT related field should be established between HEI and the industry in the form of Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) or Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). Page 5
Why OJT? • If you will get a high evaluation grade, your employer might hire you when you graduate. • Your background OJT is very important when applying for a job. Oftentimes, employers will ask you the relevance of your training to your course and to the position you are applying for. • Some companies will give you a monthly allowance if you are doing well in your tasks. • OJT will be your training ground. If you still have no idea on what is meant to be a worker, OJT will give a hint of career realities. Page 6

Procedures • Look for possible company where you can render your OJT. • The COMPANY MUST have an MIS Office or its equivalent. Page 8
Procedures • 3. Trainees SHOULD perform any of the following task ONLY: • Software development. The SW should be used/utilized by the Company. • SW Maintenance. The TRAINEE can maintain the SW that the Company purchased. • SW Testing. • Multimedia. Subject for approval of the Dean. • Web development. Must have contract with CICS. The Client should PAY the developers. • Maintain infrastructure/Networking. Page 9
Procedure • If you already have your company: • Secure OJT REQUEST LETTERformat the STUDENT AFFAIRS OFFICE (SAO). Fill-up the form completely. • Let the CICS Dean sign the form. • Pay P10.00 at the CASHIER’s OFFICE. Present the OFFICIAL RECEIPT together with the signedOJT REQUEST LETTER to the STUDENT AFFAIRS OFFICE staff. Page 10
Procedure • Wait for the SAO Staff to issue the OJT LETTER. • Let the CICS Dean sign the OJT LETTER. • Proceed to the REGISTRAR’s OFFICE for the DRY SEAL. • Photocopy (Xerox) the OJT LETTER. • Let the COMPANY receive the OJT LETTER. Leave the ORIGINAL COPY to the COMPANY. Photocopy the RECEIVED (second copy/photocopy) of the OJT LETTER . Page 11
Requirements • BEFORE YOU START YOUR TRAINING: • Make sure that you have the following • 1. Training Waiver • - CICS Office (OJT Facilitators) • 2. Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) or • Memorandum of Understanding • - CICS Office (OJT Facilitators) • Photocopy of the RECEIVED OJT LETTER. • 4. Others Page 12
Requirements • ENROLLYOUR IT INDUSTRY EXPOSURE 2 subject. This is the 6-unit subject offered by the CICS. • Place all the REQUIREMENTSin LONG BROWN ENVELOP. Label the envelop with your LASTNAME, FIRSTNAME MI format. • Meet your FACILITATOR on the FIRST DAY of classes. Page 13
Requirements • DURING THE OJT: • Submit your OJT Weekly Reportsthrough your FACILITATOR’s e-mail address/Yahoo!Group. • Always inform your FACILITATOR with the problems, if any, you are encountering. Page 14
Requirements • AFTER YOU COMPLETED THE 280 HOURS: • Submit the following to your respective FACILITATOR: • OJT Performance Appraisal Form • This should be submitted on a SEALED envelop SIGNED by your SUPERVISOR. • Certificate of Completion • Output Presentation (for OJT 2) • System Documentation (for OJT 2) • Pictures Page 15
