3. 3 Objectives of the MEETS programme Objective 1 - To review priorities and develop target sets of indicators for new areas
Objective 2 - To achieve a streamlined framework for business-related statistics
Objective 3 - To support implementation of a more efficient way of producing enterprise and trade statistics
Objective 4 - To modernise Intrastat
4. 4 Objective 3 - To support implementation of a more efficient way of producing enterprise and trade statistic (1)
Making better use of data that already exist in the statistical system. To create fully integrated data sets for enterprise and trade statistics at micro level (3 projects):
Micro data linking (data on international sourcing, ICT usage, foreign trade statistics linking with SBS statistics)
5. 5 Objective 3 - To support implementation of a more efficient way of producing enterprise and trade statistic (2) Making better use of data that already exist in the economy. To avoid double burden on businesses (2 projects):
Use of administrative data for business statistics
Use of VAT information for statistics on international trade in services
6. 6 Objective 3 - To support implementation of a more efficient way of producing enterprise and trade statistic (3) Developing tools for the more efficient extraction, transmission and treatment of data. Simplified reporting from enterprises to national statistics
7. 7 Making better use of data that already exist in the economy – the use of administrative and accounts data for business statistics To provide financial support to MS using administrative and accounts data for statistical purposes – to solve individual problems
To create the ESSnet project on the use of administrative and accounts data for business statistics – to solve common problems
8. 8 Eurostat ESSnet projects ESSnet is an instrument created by Eurostat to develop new projects where few MS, interested in a specific domain, actively collaborate on the common task and disseminate the results to those not participating. This helps to take advantage of the synergies, to save costs and to share best practices in developing specific actions beneficial for the whole European Statistical System (ESS).The ESSnets under the MEETS programme will be implemented through Framework partnership agreements (FPA)
9. 9 Main objectives of the ESSnet project on the Use of Administrative and Accounts Data for Business Statistics (1) To provide a clear picture about the use of administrative data for business statistics in Member States
To help Member States examining the usefulness of available administrative data for business statistics
To help Member States for checking initial quality of administrative data before introducing it into statistical data base
To provide Member States with the methods of estimating business statistics variables which cannot be obtained from administrative sources
10. 10 Main objectives of the ESSnet project on the Use of Administrative and Accounts Data for Business Statistics (2) To help Member States to choose the most appropriate estimation methods of STS on the basis of administrative data
To assist Member States looking for the most efficient way of combining different sources of administrative data with statistical surveys
To develop quality indicators for business statistics produced on the basis of administrative data
11. 11 Main objectives of the ESSnet project on the Use of Administrative and Accounts Data for Business Statistics (3) To identify the main differences in the concepts used in business statistics from those in business accounting
To provide Member States with latest available information on how best to use administrative data for producing business statistics and for this purpose o create an information centre (web-site).
12. 12 The TF members are invited to make comments and questions on Eurostat ESSnet project on the use of administrative and accounts data for business statistics
