  2. Daily Life Daily Life Men made all of the decisions and worked at jobs. Women took care of the house and the children. Boys went to school or worked with their fathers. Girls went to school or learned how to take care of the house. BACK

  3. Government Government Ancient Rome had a Republican form of government. Rome had 2 consuls that shared equal power. The consuls are similar to our president. Before this, ancient Rome was ruled by emperors. A famous emperor was Augustus. BACK

  4. Architecture Architecture Ancient Romans are known for their arches and aqueducts, which is an irrigation system. A famous building in ancient Rome was the Colosseum. Gladiator fights and chariot races took place there. BACK

  5. Agriculture Agriculture The major crops in Ancient Rome were olives, grapes, wheat, and barley. The land was hot, dry, hilly, and rocky. BACK
