BFD Working Group

The BFD Working Group meeting will cover various topics such as base specifications, standards process updates, and required security levels. Clarifications from IESG, new boilerplate, and IPR disclosures will be discussed. The meeting aims to finalize the BFD package before the November IETF session.

  3. Standards Process and Issues • Clarification still needed from IESG on required level of security. SHA-1 for multi-hop is expected to be a SHOULD. • There is a dependency on MPLS LSP BFD on LSP-Ping in the standards process. • New boilerplate needed. • IPR disclosure required.

  4. Standards Process and Issues (continued) • MIB will require minor updates. • One implementation required for Proposed Standard status. For base specification, we expect 3. • Further community and cross area review needed. • We hope to WG last call the BFD package before November IETF session.
