Purpose of the Program The guidance/counseling program addresses • the academic development, • career development and • personal/social development of students. This includes the support of parents, staff and administration while addressing the needs of students.
Service Delivery Model • The Guidance and Counseling services are delivered in the areas of • systems support, • individual counseling, • responsive services and • guidance curriculum. Services are provided through classrooms lessons, individual and small group counseling, consultative services, test coordination, parent nights, in service for staff, career exploration and development, class scheduling and collaboration with outside agencies.
Progress Toward Previous Program Goal GOAL: Increase the knowledge and skills necessary of all Park Hill students K-12 to make informed academic/career decisions. RESULTS: • At the elementary level a minimum of four career awareness lessons were conducted per classroom. • At the middle school level 100% of eighth graders completed the Career Cluster Inventory from Missouri Connection. And a minimum of two Missouri Connections lessons were completed in all 6th, 7th and 8th grade classrooms.
Progress Toward Previous Program Goal GOAL: (Continued) Increase the knowledge and skills necessary of all Park Hill students K-12 to make informed academic/career decisions. GOAL STATUS: • At the high school level 100% of ninth grade students developed a career portfolio in Missouri Connections during their Health and Wellness class. All 11th grade all students developed Personal Plan of Study identifying a Career Path and a Career Pathway. DEPLOYMENT LEVEL: • Services are well deployed, although deployment may vary in some areas or schools.
Future Program Goals to be Evaluated • To foster a safe, caring environment for all students and staff.
Plan for Evaluation Measurable Outcomes Data Collection Methods • Elementary: Facilitate training and strengthen the implementation of bully prevention curriculum such as “Stop, Walk and Talk” a component of positive behavior supports across all school environments. • Middle School: Facilitate training and strengthen the implementation of a bully prevention program such as Olweus Bullying Prevention Program, BIST and positive behavior supports across all environments. • High School: Facilitate and support the development of the awareness of diversity, tolerance and empowerment of self. Activities could include Rachel’s Challenge, speakers and various student led groups. • Assessments • Surveys and questionnaires • Interviews • Focus Groups • Case studies
