  6. Wave energy: • For EM waves, the shorter the wavelength, the greater the energy— Which type of wave carries the most energy? Gamma rays– used in radiation therapy to kill diseased cells in the human body

  7. Wave speed: • True or False? All EM waves travel at the same speed in space? True– they all travel at the speed of light (300,000 km/s or 186,000 miles per second.)

Main Idea: (write this in your notes) • The sun emits (gives off) each type of electromagnetic radiation. • Most of the sun’s energy is emitted in the form of visible light, infrared light (which we feel as heat), and ultraviolet light (which causes sunburn), which all have different wavelengths.
