Under 17 European Championships | Republic of Ireland 2019 • In May 2019, the Republic of Ireland will host the very prestigious UEFA Under 17 European Championships. • The tournament will take place across the midlands, east and south east of the country in Ireland’s SSE Airtricity League Stadia. • Thousands of coaches, players and fans representing 16 of the biggest teams in European football will come to these shores to compete and experience our unique welcome and Irish hospitality. • Some of the players to have previously played in this incredible tournament include; Kylian Mbappé, Cesc Fabregas, Wayne Rooney and Toni Kroos to name but a few. • We want to bring the tournament to our local communities and let all the children in the Republic of Ireland be a part of this wonderful experience. • As part of this initiative we invite pupils to enter into our specific UEFA Under 17 European Championship competition.

Creative Drawing Competition | Primary School, 5th and 6th class pupils • The Mission: Draw and name a Tournament Mascot for the UEFA Under 17 European Championships and accompany the submission with a description of your drawing in no more than 150 words maximum. Drawing and word submissions should be scanned in PDF and sent in this format • Applications open from Thursday, October 4 from 12 noon • Applications can be emailed to primaryschools@fai.ie • Closing date is Friday, October 26 at 5pm • Title the email application as UEFA Under 17 competition Additional information to include: • Student’s name, class and age should be provided • Teacher’s name, school email address and telephone number should be provided • The competition will be aimed at Primary School pupils in 5th and/or 6thclass • Educational element to the mascot is a plus – suggested themes that could be pursued include: Irish Myths and Legends, Local Town Lore, Historical Irish Figures, Native Irish Animals etc.

Creative Drawing Competition | Primary School, 5th and 6th Class Pupils cont’d Upon selection by our competitions panel the following prizes will apply: • Winning Illustrator will: 1) Get their design brought to life and will be the official mascot for the UEFA Under 17 European Championships here in the Republic of Ireland. 2) Get to be an official flag bearer at a Men's Senior International match in the Aviva Stadium, and 3) Meet our competing Under 17 Men’s National team in AbbotstownCo. Dublin before the tournament. • Winning Illustrators’ Class will get: Tickets to a Men's Senior International match at the Aviva Stadium and an exclusive matchday experience for the winning class. • Runner-Up Illustrators’ Class will get: FAI merchandise and goody bags for the runner-up class’ application.

  5. Terms and Conditions | Creative Drawing Competition • Creative Drawing Competition entry is strictly for Primary School children in 5th and/or 6th class. • The competition is open to residents of the Republic of Ireland only, excluding employees of the FAI, their families, agents or anyone else connected with this promotion. • No purchase is necessary. Entry to the competition is free. • Only one overall entry to be submitted per school. Multiple entries will not be accepted. • Prizes offered are as stated in the previous slide. There will be no cash alternative offered. • The competition will open on October 4from 12 noon and close on October 26 at 5pm. No Exceptions will be given. • The winning entries will be chosen by an official FAI judging panel. • Winner will be contacted on w/c November 5 and will be contacted by their class teacher. • In the event that a winner cannot be contacted or does not respond within 24 hours to the prize notification, or if the winner chooses not to accept the prize for any reason, an alternative winner may be selected from other entries. • Participants agree to allow their photograph to be used as part of the promotion of this event. • The FAI may choose to contact entrants in the future with relevant competition / announcements.
