Manya Kaufman • Born in Warsaw, Poland • Died in Brooklyn, NY • From a family of bakers • 3 siblings, all of family lost in WW2 • From Warsaw to Siberia during the war, then to Berlin to emigrate to USA • Had 2 daughters, Luba before the war, and 18 years later, Frieda • After Luba’s firstborn, Larry, Manya was known from then on as Baba

Morris Kerschenblat • Born in Warsaw, Poland • Died in Connecticut, USA • From a family of tailors and worked as a tailor all his life • 5 siblings, all of family lost in WW2 • From Warsaw to Siberia during the war, then to Berlin to emigrate to USA • Had 2 daughters, Luba before the war, and 18 years later, Frieda • After Luba’s firstborn, Larry, Morris was known from then on as Zijda

Jack Harris • Lived and died in Monticello • Worked as a postman for 40 years, driving 5 hours everyday to NYC from Monticello in a car with over 400,000 miles on it • He liked to fish on a small lake that he walked to from his home • He always kept a dog, saying that the Germans got rid of dogs first when they came to Poland because dogs would protect their people
