Paper • Why do you think this is important? • Paper artifacts date all the way back to the 2nd century BC.
Printing • Why important? • Invented 650-670 AD • Began as wood block printing • Is what it sounds like. Blocks of would with characters carved into them. • Moveable type • Blocks could be moved around to say whatever you needed.
Gunpowder • Why important? • Used in celebrations • Fireworks, fire crackers, etc… • Did not invent guns, but used gun powder to create bombs. • Launched from catapults • Dropped from walls on invaders
Compass • Why important? • 27 – 100 AD • Discovered magnetism
