Tibet Railway • Modern 1956 kilometer long railroad that extends from Xining, Qinghai, to Lhasa, Tibet. • It is a landmark achievement for Chinese engineering and design • Opened in 2006; proposed by Sun Yat-sen • Tourist Attractions along the railway include: • Yangtze River, Qinghai Lake, Bird Island

  4. Bird Island • Lies northwest of Qinghai Lake • There is bird-watching • Thousands of birds such as Cormorants migrate to Bird Island in spring and summer to breed. • Because there are so many bird eggs, it is also known as “Egg Island”
