  2. Review • What is PROPAGANDA? • Examples of propaganda in Ch. 3:

  3. Painting as History Actions: Who is doing what. Setting: Where the action is taking place. Characters: Who is part of the battle. What happens to each person.

  4. Painting as Propaganda Symbols: ex. White Knight = hero. Placement: Center is focus (the most important action or figure). Lighting: Bright = good Dark = bad.

  5. Painting as Emotion Background: General feeling. Movement: The more movement, the more feeling. Facial Expression: What each character is feeling/ thinking.

  6. Task • Read Ch. 4 with your group carefully, keeping track of what happens. • Create an annotated record of the “Battle of the Cowshed,” including: • Make sure you plan carefully with your group. You will have today and part of the hour tomorrow to complete it. • Tomorrow we will present and compare our illustrations.
