Social benefits - you go places and get involved • Economic benefits - enjoy work - increased chances of being promoted and getting pay raises -NETWORKING- interconnected group, where members work together to help each other
Qualities needed for positive relationships • Mutual respect- regard one another with honor and esteem -agree to disagree -do not try to force your opinion -teens and adults both need to feel valued by one another -teens- seek wisdom from adults -adults- be inspired by enthusiasm of youth
Trust-having confidence in people -must prove you are trustworthy -keep secrets -cannot laugh at friends who share concerns with you -do not encourage activities that are not in other’s best interest -help friend view situations from different perspectives
Openness- -people feel free to share thoughts and feelings • Reliability- if you say you will do something, do it!!! -routine patterns of behavior -helps people know what to expect from one another
Commitment • Appreciation • Resilience- ability to bounce back after a crisis • Self-efficacy- a person’s beliefs about his or her capability • Giving/ receiving
