Context • 2010-11: Educator Effectiveness Task Force made recommendations for improving evaluations, including a pilot program • 2011-13: Two-year pilot included 30 districts, 287 schools, 15,000 educators, 168,000 students • State provided $3.5 million in funding for teacher evaluation pilot in 11-12 and teacher and principal pilot in 12-13 • Evaluation Pilot Advisory Committee (EPAC) represented pilot educators and all associations (NJEA, PSA, ASA, etc.) • 2013-14: EPAC feedback and suggestions are reflected in AchieveNJ regulations and state-provided resources and training • 2014 and Beyond: AchieveNJ to build on work of EPAC and AchieveNJ Advisory Committee (ANJAC)

DOE is now working with ANJAC on more comprehensive DEAC guidance based on field experiences.
