The Pain of not knowing what’s going on, The love and beauty she’s lived with so long. Scared and afraid, she closes her eyes, Unaware she’ll never again see light. The memory of beauty no longer exists, Just brutality and fascination, And a murder so sick. The cries and screams that were never heard, We will never, ‘till the end, hear a last word. A man with an obsession to confess, A family relieved that they are no longer pressed, with questions of their loss and searing pain of accusations, no one remembers the person she was, Nor do they care. All that’s seen is a case that holds interest, Not a person, Not a loss, Or the beauty of innocence, Or a beautiful child whose end came too soon. Just a murder, Just guilt, Just a conviction, No remembrance for the life, Only the death will be heard.

Meet JonBenét: The Murder Rigor mortis is the stiffening of the muscles caused by chemical changes in the muscle tissue after death. This is used to determine the time of death. Rigor mortis usually begins within 2 to 4 hours of the death and it take 6 to 12 hours before it affects the whole body. 24 to 26 hours after the death is normally when the effects of rigor mortis have dissipated. When they found Jonbenét she was in the advanced stages of rigor mortis. When John Ramsey found JonBenet at 1:05 p.m. her body was completely set with rigor mortis, which indicates that she had died between 10:00 p.m. on December 25 and 6:00 a.m. on December 26. Jonbenét’s diagnosis was ligature strangulation, craniocerebral injuries (scalp contusion, fracture in the right side of the skull, small contusions of the tips of the temporal lobes, and more), abrasion of the right cheek, abrasion/contusion posterior right shoulder, abrasions of left lower back and posterior left lower leg, ligature of right wrist. Final cause of death: asphyxia by strangulation associated with craniocerebral trauma.
John Mark Karr • John Mark Karr was the man who confessed to JonBenét’s murder. • His ex-wife says he had an obsession with JonBenét, and her case, before his confession. • Did he confess to the crime just to have some connection with Jonbenét? Just to feel a part of her life, or in this case her death? • John Karr was previously arrested for reasons not to be named, but connected to the topic of her death. • DNA of the killer was found at the crime scene and under JonBenét’s finger nails, but it does not match John Karr’s. • Why did he confess? “We all need to put this chapter in place, which is a conclusion, and then start the healing. The healing is what I want to start happening. To heal and to feel better about what happened.” • What does he have to say about the DNA test? “The DNA might not match, but you cant trust the test.” • Your ex gave you an alibi? “Its normal that people in a family protect you.” • What are your thoughts on JonBenét? “Worse than anything, JonBenét is gone. She is only here in spirit.”
John and Patsy Ramsey • JonBenét was reported missing on the morning of December 26, 1996, by her mother, Patsy Ramsey. Her mother immediately called the police after she received a ransom note, explaining that her daughter was missing and that she would be killed if the police were called. • What they didn’t know is that JonBenét was already dead in their own basement. • John and Patsy lived under this cloud of suspicion for 12 years until in 2008 new DNA technology cleared both he and his wife, but not before Patsy died of ovarian cancer in 2006. • The murderer of JonBenét has not yet been caught and the case is still active.
Ransom Note "Mr. Ramsey: Listen Carefully! We are a group of individuals that represent a small foreign faction. We respect your business, but not the country it serves. At this time, we have your daughter in our possession. She is safe and unharmed and if you want her to see 1997, you must follow our instructions to the letter. You will withdraw $118,000 from your account. $100,000 will be in $100 bills and the remaining $18,000 in $20 bills. Make sure that you bring an adequate size attach to the bank. When you get home, you will put the money in a brown paper bag. I will call you between 8 and 10 a.m. tomorrow to instruct you on delivery. The delivery will be exhausting so I advise you to be rested. If we monitor you getting the money early we might call you early to arrange an earlier delivery of the money and hence and earlier pickup of your daughter. Any deviation of my instructions will result in the immediate execution of your daughter. You will also be denied her remains for a proper burial. The two gentlemen watching over your daughter do not particularly like you so I advise you not to provoke them. Speaking to anyone about your situation, such as police or F.B.I. will result in your daughter being beheaded. If we catch you talking to a stray dog, she dies. If you alert bank authorities, she dies. If the money is in way marked or tampered with, she dies. You can try to deceive us, but be warned we are familiar with law enforcement countermeasures and tactics. You stand a 99% chance of killing your daughter if you try to outsmart us. Follow our instructions and you stand a 100% of getting her back. You and your family are under constant scrutiny, as well as the authorities. Don't try to grow a brain John. You are not the only fat cat around so don't think that killing will be difficult. Don't underestimate us, John. Use that good, Southern common sense of yours. It's up to you now John! Victory! S.B.T.C."
