  7. U.S. Small Business Administration The Patriot Express Initiative Loan SBA’s Patriot ExpressInitiative has new andenhanced programsand services forveterans and membersof the military wantingto establish or expand small businesses.

Patriot Express Initiative Loan Military community members, including: • Veterans (other than dishonorably discharged) • Service-disabled veterans • Soon-to-be discharged active-duty service members eligible for the military’s Transition Assistance Program • Reservists and National Guard members • Current spouse of any Veteran (other than dishonorably discharged), any Service-Disabled Veteran, any Active Duty Military member, or Reservist or National Guard member; widowed spouse of a service member who died while in service; or widowed spouse of a veteran (other than dishonorably discharged) who died of a service-connected disability

  9. Patriot Express Initiative Loan Patriot Express loans qualify for the SBA’s maximum guaranty: • 85 percent for loans of$150,000 or less • 75 percent for loans over$150,000 up to $500,000

  11. Patriot Express Initiative Loan Collateral Requirements • Lenders are not required to take collateral for loans up to $25,000 • Lenders may use their existing collateral policy for loans over $25,000 up to $350,000 • Lenders must take available collateral for loans greater than $350,000

Patriot Express Initiative Loan Interest Rates The standard 7(a) interest rate restrictions apply: • A lender may charge up to 2.25 percent over the Prime rate for maturities under seven years • A lender may charge up to 2.75 percent over the Prime rate for maturities over seven years • The rates can be 2 percent higher for loans of $25,000 or less • Or, 1 percent higher for loans between $25,000 or $50,000.
