Internet Skills for Health and Social Care Professionals (Objective 3.3 : Digital capacity and skills) Prof. J. van Dijk and Dr. A. van DeursenUniversity of Twente (NL), Center for eGovernment Studies & Center for Telematics and IT • Specialization: Digital divide and Digital skills research. • Achievements: • Developed a scientifically validated framework and self tests for Internet skills • Conducted a series of laboratory performance tests and nation-wide surveys among populations at large (see next page) • Tested Internet skills levels of civil servants • Applied Internet skills research in the domain of health care • Wish to continue with: • Defining and developing qualifications, curricula and toolkits for health and social care professionals • Linking these with certification processes (we worked with ECDL ao.) • Delivering impact measurement methodologies (from existing test experience) • Applying our knowledge to the special skills-related needs of seniors and the disabled
