  2. 5 When Jesus reached the spot, he looked up and said to him, “Zacchaeus, come down immediately. I must stay at your house today.”

  3. Lk 19:8But Zacchaeus stood up and said to the Lord, “Look, Lord! Here and now

  4. I give half of my possessions to the poor, and if I have cheated anybody out of anything, I will pay back four times the amount.”

  5. Luke 19:10“For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.”

  6. Luke 15:1Now the tax collectors and sinners were all gathering around to hear Jesus.2 But the Pharisees

  7. Lk 15:4“Suppose one of you has a hundred sheep and loses one of them.

  8. Doesn’t he leave the ninety-nine in the open country and go after the lost sheep until he finds it? 

  9. 5 And when he finds it, he joyfully puts it on his shoulders 6 and goes home.

  10. Then he calls his friends and neighbors together and says, ‘Rejoice with me; I have found my lost sheep.’

  11. Luke 15:7I tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents…

  12. Luke 15:8“Or suppose a woman has ten silver coins and loses one.

  13. Doesn’t she light a lamp, sweep the house and search carefully until she finds it? 

  14. Luke 15:9 …Rejoice with me; I have found my lost coin.’

  15. Luke 15:10In the same way, I tell you, there is rejoicing in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents.”

  19. 15 So he went and hired himself out to a citizen of that country, who sent him to his fields to feed pigs. 

  20. Luke 15:16He longed to fill his stomach with the pods that the pigs were eating, but no one gave him anything.

  22. …he said, ‘How many of my father’s hired servants have food to spare, and here I am starving to death! 

  23. Luke 15:18I will set out and go back to my father and say to him: Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you. 

  24. Luke 15:19I am no longer worthy to be called your son; make me like one of your hired servants.’ 

  25. Lk 15:20 “But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and was filled with compassion for him;

  26. …he ran to his son, threw his arms around him and kissed him.

  27. 21 “The son said to him, ‘Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you. I am no longer worthy to be called your son.’

  28. 22 “But the father said to his servants, ‘Quick! Bring the best robe and put it on him.

  29. Put a ring on his finger and sandals on his feet. 

  30. 23 Bring the fattened calf and kill it. Let’s have a feast and celebrate. 

  31. 24 For this son of mine was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.’ So they began to celebrate.

  32. Luke 15:32But we had to celebrate and be glad, because this brother of yours was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.’”

  34. Isaiah 58:6 “Is not this the kind of fasting I have chosen:to loose the chains of injusticeanduntie the cords of the yoke,

  35. to set the oppressed free    and break every yoke?

  36. Is 58:7 Is it not to share your food with the hungry    and to provide the poor wanderer with shelter—

  37. when you see the naked, to clothe them,    and not to turn away from your own flesh and blood?

  38. 8 Then your light will break forth like the dawn,    and your healing will quickly appear;

  39. then your righteousness will go before you, and the glory of the Lord will be your rear guard.

  40. Isaiah 58:9Then you will call, and the Lord will answer;    you will cry for help, and he will say: Here am I.

  41. 10 and if you spend yourselves in behalf of the hungry    and satisfy the needs of the oppressed,

  42. then your light will rise in the darkness,    and your night will become like the noonday.

  43. 11 The Lord will guide you always;    he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched landand will strengthen your frame.

  44. You will be like a well-watered garden,    like a spring whose waters never fail.

  45. 12 Your people will rebuild the ancient ruins    and will raise up the age-old foundations;

  46. you will be called Repairer of Broken Walls,    Restorer of Streets with Dwellings.
