General trends • Increasing global demands for Evidence Based Decision Making (climate change, economnic crisis, food crisis, fight against poverty, globalisation, etc.). • Economic / financial crisis (budgetary situation in many statistical offices, lacking cooperation budget and available expertise) • Specific situations (dilution of expertise) • Roles of countries and international and regional organisations Indicators for long-term developments
