Operational verification in Poland (preliminary results)

This work report presents the installation and implementation of VERSUS for verification of surface parameters and precipitation at 56 SYNOP stations in Poland. Methods include model runs at 00 UTC with evaluations for continuous parameters and various precipitation thresholds over the period of June 2008 to July 2009. Seasonal analysis and different time windows are used.

  3. METHODS • Run 00 UTC – model 14 km • ME, MAE, RMSE for continuous parameters: T2m, MSLP,Wspeed, W dir. • Period seasonally (JJA,SON,DJF, MAM) • Precipitation 12h and 24h (thresholds 0.2, 0.4, 0.6, 0.8, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9,10, 12, 14, 16, 18, 20) scores: FBI, POD,FAR,ETS
