  2. Is York ‘PARTY CAPITAL'of the country? According to the stag night website “last night of freedom.co.uk” York is the place to be, it says “With over 350 bars, several famous pub crawl routes and a healthy quota of hen parties on the loose, York holds all the stag night aces”. Not only are we popular with stag and hen do’s we have over 26,000 students, 3.84 million visitors a year with over half spending a night in the city. With 27 venues per square mile York has the highest number of Night life venues per square mile in the whole of the UK.

  3. Night Life Initiatives • Over 80 towns and cities in the country are now running night life initiatives. • Street Pastors. • Town Pastors. • Street Angels. • All have been very successful.

Halifax Street Angels • Halifax street angels contributed to seeing violent crime fall in Halifax town centre by 42% since it was launched in 2005. • "The Street Angels are really special people. I have witnessed them first hand giving care, support and help to people in lots of different situations...I fully support and applaud this excellent project." -Chief Inspector Vince Firth, former Halifax Neighbourhood Police .

  7. Aims • To bring Christians together from across the denominations to be a blessing to people in York on Friday and Saturday nights. • This is done by caring for, practically helping and listening to people especially those in vulnerable or difficult situations. • Streets safer for everyone

Who can be a volunteer? • You must be over 18. • Must complete an application form with 2 references. • Need to complete a CRB check. • There is no minimum commitment and flexibility on the hours. • Volunteers have initial one day training and “on the job” training. • There will be a variety of training courses run over the course of the year.

  9. Get involved • To make this work we need committed volunteers. • Lots and lots of volunteers. • On the street • Prayer network
