5. The Local Plan The Local Plan is a document that contains the local policy and procedures that assure access to special education programs and services for all individuals with exceptional needs residing in an identified geographic region called a SELPA.

6. Local Plan Development In developing a Local Plan, each SELPA shall do the following: • Involve special and general education teachers and parents • Cooperate with the county office and other school districts in planning • Cooperate with county office to assure compatibility with other plans in the county Reference: 30 EC §56195.3

10. Local Plan Components Local Plan Governance The Local Plan shall include the following: • Provision of a governance structure • Responsibility of participating agencies • Designation of a RLA (AU) • County Office compatibility Reference: 30 EC §56195.1

Local Plan Components LEA Assurance Statement The SELPA shall submit a signed statement from each participating LEA member which assures that the LEA has, on file locally, policies and procedures that are consistent with federal and state laws and regulations, governing the following required areas:
