Brief Biography • Born December 10, 1830 in Amherst Massachusetts. • Well-behaved, proper, intelligent, and shy. • She went to the Academy and took numerous classes, specifically in English and Literature. • Always had an existing fear of death, stayed secluded in her room. • People didn’t appreciate the uniqueness of her writing til after her death. • She died on May 15, 1886, at 55.
