  6. After reading the three articles under key reading below, consider the following questions: 1. What is particular about the methods used by the authors of each article to investigate social life in their research? 2. How does each of the authors represent their findings to you, the reader? 3. Are there alternative ways that their research questions could have been explored? What might these alternative ways have added or lost compared to the methods that were used?

  7. What does a focus on the sensory in social research make possible? • What sort of questions might it exclude? • Consider new ways of expanding the boundaries of knowledge using sensory methodologies.
