  2. Fall 2011 Review • First Time Freshmen (FTF) • # of applications received – 24,191 • # admitted – 16,946 • Average GPA – 3.13 • Average SAT (Math & CR) – 890 • Average ACT (composite) – 17.6 • Transfers • # of applications received – 14,729 • # admitted – 12,087 • Average GPA – 2.95

Fall 2012 Admissions • Accepting undergrad applications from: • First time freshmen (FTF) • Upper division transfers (UDT) • Golden 4 completed with ‘C’ or better • Coursework accepted through Spring 2012 • For FTF, Early Start Program in Summer ’12: • Required participants will be notified via email in May 2012

Campus Impaction • Priority admission consideration to local admission area applicants. • Eligibility index for non-local area will be based on pool of applicants. • FTF –take and submit ACT/SAT regardless of GPA • Local area determination: • FTF – Graduation high school • Transfers – College(s) where completed majority of units

  5. Local Admission Area • Chancellor’s Office designated service area • Schools with historical relationships with CSULA Map of CSULA Service/Local Area

Program Impaction • Three Pre-Majors: • Child Development • Criminal Justice • Social Work • Pre-Nursing: • FTF – 3.00 GPA & 900 SAT (or 20 ACT) • Transfers – 2.75 GPA • Psychology (notify beginning in March 2012): • FTF – ranked by Eligibility Index (GPA & SAT/ACT) • Transfers – ranked by GPA

International Applicants • CSU Mentor International Application • A complete application includes the following: • Financial Affidavit • Transcripts from all schools/colleges attended, including current institution • If no full time school for 3 years at an English-instruction institution, need: • TOEFL: 500 pBT, 61 iBT • IELTS: Band score of 5.5 • PTE: Score of at least 44

Fall 2012 Timeline • Application filing period • October 1, 2011 - November 30, 2011 • Admission status notifications • From localarea and non-impactedprograms – January 2012 • From non-localarea and impactedprograms – March 2012 • The University uses EMAIL as the primary method of communication.

Fall 2012 Deadlines • CSU Mentor Application – 11/30/11 • SAT/ACT Testing – December 2011 • Application Fee Payment –12/15/11 • Application Updates – 2/15/12 • International Students (F/J Visa): • Financial Affidavit & Transcripts – 2/15/12 • Enrollment Confirmation Deposit ($100) – 5/1/12 • EPT/ELM test date – 5/5/12 • Orientation Reservation – 7/5/12 • Mandatory for First Time Freshmen • Final Transcript & Test Scores –7/13/12 • Graduation Date & Official Signature

Verification & Appeals • Initial offer of conditional admissions based on self-reported data • Transcripts and official SAT/ACT test scores will be used to verify final admissions eligibility. • Students may appeal admission decision only if due to missing info or University error. • Appeals must be submitted within 15 days of notice of admission decision. • Supporting documentation required • www.calstatela.edu/univ/admiss/appeal
